EcoVadis: Moving Toward Sustainability
We chose EcoVadis for an objective evaluation of our company's sustainability efforts, an essential part of the ongoing improvement process that guides our everyday operations. This is an opportunity to reassess our practices and enhance our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance.
Our EcoVadis Evaluation
We’re excited to share that following our EcoVadis assessment, we earned the Silver Medal.
This recognition isn’t meant as an end goal -- but rather motivation to push ourselves further. We’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint and strengthening our ethical policies to benefit both our employees and the environment in which we operate.
A Trusted Global Platform
EcoVadis is one of the most respected sustainability rating platforms worldwide. Only a select few companies achieve certification with high scores, making our achievement even more meaningful. The evaluation is customized based on each company’s size, industry, and operational locations, ensuring a thorough understanding of its actual impact.
How to Get EcoVadis Certified
The EcoVadis certification is obtained through a rigorous process involving several stages:
- Online Survey: the process begins with completing a digital survey, requiring an in-depth analysis of business practices in various areas, such as waste management, ethics, and supply chain.
- Providing Evidence: when completing the questionnaire, it’s necessary to provide evidence demonstrating the company’s policies. These can include documents, certificates, reports, and other forms of documentation supporting the answers given.
- Evaluation: once the questionnaire is completed and evidence attached, the data is analyzed by a group of experts who assess the company’s ESG performance.
- Score and Certification: Companies demonstrating significant commitment to sustainability receive an EcoVadis badge. Among these, those that stand out the most receive a medal. Medals are divided into four categories: Bronze (top 35%), Silver (top 15%), Gold (top 5%), and Platinum (top 1%). Each recognition is valid for 12 months.
Evaluation Criteria
The EcoVadis evaluation covers 21 sustainability criteria, grouped into four key areas:
- Environment: evaluates the environmental impact of business activities, focusing on resource management, greenhouse gas emissions, waste disposal, and the use of renewable energy.
- Ethics: assesses the company’s efforts to prevent corruption, unfair competition, and unethical practices, with a focus on policies, employee training, and monitoring systems.
- Labor and Human Rights: looks at how the company ensures safe working conditions, upholds workers’ rights, promotes diversity and inclusion, and prevents discrimination.
- Sustainable Procurement: examines the company’s purchasing practices, including how suppliers are selected, contract terms, and management of supplier relationships to promote sustainability across the supply chain.

We prioritize working with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical and eco-friendly practices. We regularly visit their sites and, with the support of our Purchasing and Quality Departments, audit their processes to ensure they meet our ISO Standards.
These visits provide valuable opportunities for dialogue, often leading to mutual improvements.
Integrity and Accountability
Our Governance structure supports integrity and accountability in every business decision. This is backed by the establishment of a Supervisory Body that ensures the continuous improvement of our practices and a Whistleblowing platform for confidential reporting.
At Satech, we adopted the "231" Organizational Model not because of legal requirements, but as a voluntary step that adds value to our business.
